Filtering Appliance

ICE Systems has developed a stand-alone appliance that can be used in home or small office environments to provide effective protection from undesirable web content.

The ICEGuard filtering appliance can be plugged into your existing DSL or cable broadband connection along with the PC; or, if a router or gateway is in use, the ICEGuard is connected to the router or gateway as if it was another desktop computer.

Any web page requested by a filtered PC user is directed first to the ICEGuard appliance. If deemed acceptable the page is delivered to the user's web browser. If denied, the request is logged and a message is displayed in the user's browser indicating the request was blocked and logged.

Filtered users and sites, and logging/display message preferences are all configurable via a web-based interface included with the ICEGuard or remotely managed by ICE Systems for a monthly fee.

The ICEGuard appliance uses a comprehensive database of categorized website addresses and text phrases, dynamically updated, to detect objectionable content.
